About Mariana

Hi! I’m Mariana, and I’m passionate about health and well-being. This is my space for a healthy, mindful and purposeful lifestyle.

Since childhood, I heard comments about my body, and in adolescence I developed eating disorders. At 11, I was already buying magazines with restrictive diets and exercise routines. My ‘problem’, people said, was always my bottom, hips and legs. I grew up thinking I was ugly and fat.

My life began revolving around food very early: counting calories, binge eating, anorexia nervosa and bulimia. I spent years caught in a cycle of gaining and losing weight. I avoided the beach, the pool and any situation that exposed my body. Often, I hid so that people wouldn’t see me. My wish was to eat without gaining weight.

That search for freedom led me to research nutrition, exercise, emotional patterns and anything that could help me understand my body and mind. My aim was always to live fully, without restrictions.

My life has had many ups and downs, including difficult moments such as my second pregnancy, when I reached 84 kg. I later reached 73 kg but gained weight again. At the time I wrote this account, I weighed 77.7 kg and decided it was time to work toward my personal goal of 60 kg in a balanced, mindful way.

In the two years before writing this account, I focused on changing my eating habits rather than losing weight: I greatly reduced gluten and processed foods. I had already eliminated sugar about 10 years earlier, when I faced breast cancer. I tried the ketogenic diet for rapid weight loss and later moved to low carb because I really enjoy eating.

On this blog, I share my journey, experiences and lessons about healthy eating, well-being, spirituality, simple living and crochet. I believe we reflect one another and that sharing can inspire people facing similar challenges.

Here you’ll find practical tips, reflections and inspiration to live with more freedom, balance and joy.

Carpe Diem!
